Exercise – Make It Fun and It Will Become a Habit

Sheri Zampelli hooping on the Roy Anthony showToday I was listening to 50’s on 5 on XM/Sirius Radio and the Hula Hoop Song by Georgia Gibbs came on. I never remember hearing it even though I was practically raised listening to 50’s music and hula hooping.

However, as soon as I heard it, I thought of how much I love to Hula Hoop and how even though it’s technically “exercise”, it’s so much fun that it seems more like playing.

Just wanted to have the video here for a happy reminder of a fun way to be fit and have fun. Like the song says, “Anyone can play from 3 to 110!” The more ways you can make exercise fun instead of a chore, the more likely you’ll be to make it a habit. Happy Hooping.

Be Present, Create a New Reality

This a.m. I listened to one of my favorite meditation CD’s titled The Realization of Presence by W. Brugh Joy M.D. It’s a CD that helps balance your chakras. I used to think this kind of stuff was so weird but there were a few things that changed my mind:

What I noticed was that when I move my body, I feel more alert and alive. I noticed that there are key areas of the body that make physical strength possible.

Personal trainers call it your “core” muscles and it takes the same shape as the spine and the Chakras or “energy centers” of the body.

In my experience, if my core and/or my chakras don’t get continual stimulation or challenge, they begin to atrophy and I don’t feel as vital and alive. So, for me, exercise or “awakening the chakras” is a key factor in staying motivated and creative.

When I’m motivated, alert and creative, it’s easier to create my life and keep my mind focused on where I want to go.

If you’ve been inactive and you feel depressed or unmotivated, give exercise and/or chakra healing a try, see if it doesn’t make a difference. If you’re doing one and not the other, try doing both for maximum impact.
