Oprah on Larry King about The Secret and The Color Purple

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Here’s a video I’ve never seen before. Oprah is being interviewed by Larry King and she talks about how she attracted her role as Sophie in The Color Purple by imagining it, getting excited about it and letting it go.

Oprah says she believes in The Secret and has been trying to share these principles with her viewing audience for the past 21 years.

The Sheri and Erin Show hopes to share these principles with their audience for the next 20 years to come. If you want entertaining, enlightening shows on how to use The Secret and The Law of Attraction in your daily life, check out The Sheri and Erin Show on Blog Talk Radio today.

Create The Life You Want – Free Hypnosis Download

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Create The Life You Want is a hypnosis recording that will take you on a journey away from self-sabotage and toward your desires.

The format for this session is based on a real session I had with a live client. She went home from the session and cleared out 25 years of clutter from her home and had it hauled away in dumpsters.

What blocks will you release as a result of listening to this MP3? Subscribe to the blog by entering your name and e-mail address below right now and you’ll find out.

Many of the leaders in self-help, spirituality and even brain research circles agree: you can change your reactions to life as you change your thoughts and activities. This free download will help you to put all of the latest research to practical use. Listen to this hypnosis CD everyday and I guarantee that your life will be improved.

I was influenced by many leaders, teachers and authors over the years, including but not limited to Abraham Hicks, Bob Griswold, Christopher Westra, Bill Harris, Louise Hay, Catherine Ponder, Deepak Choprah, Susan Jeffers, Jack Canfield, James Hyman, Wendi Friesen, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Nancy Bonus, Ahman, Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, Les Brown and Mark Victor Hansen.

All these experts say the same things:

**Attitude is everything

**Focus on what you want and you’ll get it

**Vibration and energy are more important than thoughts

This all sounded good in theory but sometimes I had trouble knowing how to change my attitude. It seemed like it was out of my control, like my body was calling the shots, not me. Turns out, based on the latest brain research, this isn’t so far from the truth.

Our brains become programmed by repetition and unless we take an active step in our “programming” we will often run on self-destructive auto-pilot. Recordings such as Create The Life You Want help you to re-program your mind, to take charge of your life.

By subscribing to this blog today, you get a free hypnosis download which is a $150 value. You will also receive news about other freebies and great deals on the internet. Just enter your name and e-mail address below.

According to The Secret and The Law of Attraction, it is important to feel good if you want to attract good things to yourself. If you feel bad but try to “think positive” you are practically wasting your time, or at least prolonging the process. I stay up-to-date and current on brain research and studies involving the mind. By subscribing to this blog you have the opportunity to be current on the issues that affect your mental and emotional health.

Step Four From Sabotage to Success: Goal Setting

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Write Your GoalsThe fourth step From Sabotage to Success is: Success Breeds Success. What that means is that when you put yourself in a position to achieve success and you focus on success, you are likely to create more of the same. An important part of focusing on success is to write it down and acknowledge it as it’s happening.

In our culture we seem to be stuck in an all-or-nothing, perfectionistic mindset about success but the truth is, any little baby step you can take towards achieving your goal counts as success. For example, if you are afraid to strive for a better job, start by updating your resume. Since you will need a resume to apply for a new job, getting it done is important. If you have been wanting to start an exercise program but you don’t feel you have the time, begin by taking the stairs instead of the elevator, park your car farther away and walk to your office, walk to the grocery store or post office instead of driving.

If you want to go back to school, start with filling out the application or having your transcripts sent to you. If you want to communicate better with others, start by practicing with non-threatening people or visualizing yourself as a successful communicator. If you want to change your eating habits, start by cutting one food item out of your diet, when you are successful at that you can strive for a different goal.

It is also very important to track your progress in a notebook and reward yourself for a job well done. The negative voice in your head will try to tell you that you’re not doing good enough and that it’s not worth it to try. Don’t listen to that negative voice. Get out your notebook and look at all the positive things you have accomplished then give yourself credit. Part of resistance is not acknowledging successes as they happen. If you only acknowledge your failure it will be easier to quit and to feel justified in doing so. Reward yourself by taking time out to do things that you enjoy or setting aside money for a new outfit or a vacation. One woman I know saved all her cigarette money and took a trip to Cancun. Perhaps you will be more motivated to stick to your goals if you have a fulfilling reward to look forward to?

If you’ve lived your entire life thinking negative or feeling inferior or being punished for not being good enough, that’s the language you know and relate to. So in a sense, you are learning a new language which means you have to forget everything you’ve learned up to this point and be willing to see it in a new way. To change, you must reinforce your new language daily. You must read books, listen to tapes and practice positive self-talk out loud and silently. You need to immerse yourself in this new language daily. You will forget what you’ve learned unless you apply it. Here are some ways to keep yourself immersed in your new language:

• Master Mind group: Start a group with your friends and make weekly commitments to work towards new changes.
• Become a teacher: Share what you’ve learned with others and/or be the person who starts a Master Mind group. It will help keep you accountable.
• Write down successes: Write down your accomplishments daily and go back over them when you’re discouraged.
• Finally, and most importantly, be flexible, keep an open mind and don’t give up.

Step Three From Sabotage to Success: Visualization

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

The third step From Sabotage to Success is See it, Believe it, Make it Real and it’s about visualizing or imagining what you want so you can eventually have it.

There will probably be times in your growth process when you will experience pain and confusion. You will tell yourself that you can live a perfectly happy life the way you are and you will try to convince yourself that it’s not that important to change.

You may compare yourself with other people and tell yourself that you’ll never be able to measure up. It’s at times like these that you need to focus on the end result you desire. Focus on what it will be like to be thin and healthy, to be in a healthy relationship, to have a job you love. Focus on how good it feels to accomplish goals and to have self-esteem. Don’t lose sight of your purpose.

Beneficial Billboard

A couple of tools you can use to help you focus on positive end results are: a Creating History Journal and a Beneficial Billboard. A Beneficial Billboard is a collage that contains words, phrases and pictures that remind you of your desired end result. It’s like your own display advertisement that “sells” you on your dreams just like advertisers try to sell you on their products. It’s called a Beneficial Billboard because everything on it will be beneficial to you once you have it. Be sure to choose only positive words and images and to focus on what you do want, not what you don’t want.

Above is an example of a Beneficial Billboard I made 15 years ago before I was a published author and before I had ever travelled to Hawaii. After making this board, many of the things pictured on it came true.

A Creating History Journal is used to write about your day as if it was in the future and went exactly the way you wanted. Here is a snippet of a sample Creating History entry from page 114 of the book From Sabotage to Success.

“Dear Diary,
I can’t believe how lucky I’ve been to find a husband who is such a kind, generous, affectionate man. He really loves me. Actually, luck had nothing to do with it. I’m so glad I had the strength to face my own self-sabotage, go beyond it, and be willing to risk meeting new men…..”

This sample entry was written by a woman in one of my workshops. At the time she wrote it, she was not in a relationship, she was sabotaging her success and she was afraid to take risks. Notice how she writes about how she wants it to be, not how it is. Within a year of writing this entry, she began dating and was enjoying her newfound freedom to take risks and welcome love back into her life.

Another tool you can use is to make a list of 10-20 good things that will happen as a result of changing. These are the points you will want to focus on every day. Write them, read them, record them on a tape and listen to them but don’t forget them.

Finally, the best medicine to cure sabotage is to make yourself do what you’re resisting. This may seem scary at first but it can be very empowering and will give you the confidence to break through resistance the next time. Fake it ’til you make it, and you will make it as long as you don’t give up.

Sometimes knowing and doing are two separate things. Meeting with a group of individuals who are all committed to change can be powerful and life transforming. If you need support and accountability from others, consider attending the workshop series Six Steps From Sabotage to Success. See details below.

Get Out of the Guilt Habit

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

ask-and-it-is-givenThe book Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks breaks down the Law of Attraction to a managable program. Part of the program is an emotional guidance scale. The #1 emotion on the list is Joy. Guilt is #21 on a list of 22 emotions.

The higher the number on this scale, the farther you’re away from being able to attract great things into your life. In other words, when you’re in the emotional state of guilt, you are not in a good place to manifest the things you want in life.

The other day I was reading A Course in Miracles and I came across this sentence: “For as long as you feel guilty you are listening to the voice of the ego”, page 233. Listening to the voice of the ego means listening to the voice of hell and misery.

Bottom line: guilt is toxic and you can’t afford it. Guilt will make you miserable and it will destroy all chances of moving up the emotional scale and making the situation better. Don’t do that to yourself.

Here are some resources to help you break mental habits:

You Create Your Habits and Your Reality

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

I originally saw this video a couple of years ago. It was one of the first things I saw in relation to Christopher Westra and the concept of using holographic creation to create my reality. If you watch this video and think of concepts like this regularly, you can create mental habits that will lead to feelings of joy and happiness.

When you are joyful, you attract great things into your life. In the book, Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks, there is an emotional scale. The higher you are on the scale, the more likely you are to attract good things into your life. The highest emotion on the scale is Joy. The lowest is fear.

You might feel like you don’t have a choice in your emotions based on what is going on around you but that simply is not true. You do have a choice. Remember, you create your own reality. If you’d like to find out more about being a conscious co-creator of you life, check out iCreateReality.com.
